Lecture at the Toronto Public Library: In the Casino with Edvard Munch – April 25.

The Toronto Public Library is running lectures on Art. 
This April it's on In the Casino with Edvard Munch.

When:
Wednesday, April 25, 2019, from 7:00 pm to 8:00 pm
at the North York Central Library auditorium.

From the Toronto Public Library website:
"In this overview of Edvard Munch's life and career up to his breakthrough painting The Scream (1893), follow the artist on his first travels outside of Norway to France and to Germany.
Learn how frequent trips to the casino in Monte Carlo, where he apparently witnessed "gambling mania," relate to The Scream, a work that Munch inscribed with the phrase "could only have been painted by a madman!"
